Why I wait to cop my tech stuff

Photobucket

Never wanted the iphone.......yeah I know crazy right. Well my man Smallz works for Apple and told me last year that if he didnt get his free(a perk they give employees) that he'd have probably waited on copping. I have a macbook an ipod and a crackberry curve. I have wanted to upgrade to an ipod touch for more music storage and free wifi and now i saw this.

2nd Generation iPod Touch Faster than iPhone

While we had generally considered the iPhone and iPod Touch to be one cohesive platform, as games have started to push the boundaries of these devices, it has become apparent that there are differences in performance between the different models.

Handheld Games Corp’s CEO Thomas Fessler has reported to Touch Arcade that performance of their 3D TouchSports Tennis game [App Store, $4.99] is noticeably different across models. TouchSports Tennis delivers some impressive 3D rendering (video) and required optimization specifically to run consistently on every device.

Our first step to increase fps performance was to introduce hardware dependent levels of detail. Where we can easily display two 1500 polygon tennis players with 32 bones each on the iPod touch 2G and maintain fast and fluid game play, the original iPod touch just chokes, and in some instances so do the iPhones. To speed up the touch, we reduced the players to 800 polygons in farther away moments of gameplay, and are now using 1000 polygon models for close ups, bringing the original iPod touch game play performance level close to that of the iPhone 3G. We’ve taken this approach across the board with great results.

The most clear difference is that fact that the iPod Touch’s processor was quietly boosted to 532MHz (up from 412MHz) with the 2nd generation model introduced in September. Meanwhile, the iPhone 3G, Original iPhone and 1st Generation iPod Touch continue to run at the original 412MHz. Though not the intended purpose, this video from Handheld Games Corp shows that the app load time of the 2nd Generation iPod Touch is notably faster than the 1st Generation model.
It seems that there are additional factors, however, as there are performance differences even found between the models that run at the same speed. The models rank in the following order (fastest to slowest) for 3D rendering, with the 2nd Generation iPod Touch being the fastest “by far”.

#1. iPod Touch 2nd Generation
#2. iPhone 3G
#3. iPhone (original)
#4. iPod Touch 1st Generation

Due to the heavy 3D nature of his game, Fessler speculates the GPU speeds could have been tweaked as well, but there is no hard evidence of this at this time. Due to these findings, Fessler even says he would not recommend anyone interested in gaming to buy a used 1st generation iPod Touch.

We Only Have 2 Products: Time and Knowledge
No matter how you make a living or who you think you work for, you only work for one person, yourself. Likewise, you only have 2 products to sell, your time and your knowledge. Here are a few example scenarios:

Migrant Farmer – Sells hours of his/her life to pick fruit or vegetables for a farmer in exchange for money. A perfect example of trading hours for dollars.
Doctor – Sells hours of his/her life to perform medical treatments based on the knowledge stored in his/her brain. A perfect example of trading hours and knowledge for dollars.
Best-Selling Author – Spends time crafting a book based on his/her knowledge or intellectual capacity and then sells the book (knowledge) many times over. A perfect example of trading knowledge for dollars. The key benefit here is residual, passive income.
In almost all cases of the self-employed, the small business owner is taking information out of his or her brain and spending the necessary time to convert it into a product of value. This concept confuses some people, and to others it seems obvious. The bottom line is that customers pay you for your time and knowledge. Success is achieved by properly crafting the two into one convenient bundle that can be sold many times over (think of products vs. services).

What knowledge do you have in your brain that provides value to others? How can you extract this information and sell it?

#2 –

The Implementation of Knowledge is Power
Knowledge alone is not power! The implementation of knowledge is power. Knowledge is simply a commodity; it’s a product like any other that has the potential to be sold. How knowledge is organized, packaged, presented, shared, and received by others is what makes knowledge so powerful.

Knowledge is useless unless it’s effectively shared with others. Your ability to educate others in a way that allows them to effectively apply the instruction is what makes knowledge an asset… something worth buying.

#3 –

Time is More Valuable than Money
One of the most important points to understand is the fact that there are two basic forms of currency, money and time. Of the two, time is the most valuable, for it cannot be replenished. A surplus of time, and the unfettered liberty to do with it as you choose, is the true measure of success.

Your time must be extracted from the formula of making money. No matter how skilled you are at transferring your knowledge to others, if you are paid on an hours for dollars basis, your ability to expand your business will eventually plateau. You will run out of time.

The successfully self-employed have made this realization and concentrate the majority of their time and effort on the single greatest secret of self-employment: generating passive income. Passive income is achieved by applying what you know into a package that can be designed and built once, and then repeatedly sold over and over again. Finding a unique way to promote and sell this knowlege is the key.
Passive Income Examples: Useful books and guides, time saving computer applications, etc.

#4 –

Success is About Knowing What You Want
Self-employed success is not the byproduct of working your way up from the ground up. It’s based on knowing what you want, understanding your abilities and implementing them diligently to achieve your goals. There are plenty of people who get laid-off from their 9 to 5 day job and end up making millions in a few short years of self-employment.

Take a look at some of the success stories around you that emerged from nowhere. These success stories were not initiated by people paying their dues to someone else’s initiatives. These success stories revolve strictly around perception and choice. The people in these stories know their capabilities, what they’re doing, and what they want. Once people make this realization, and the conscious choice to act on it, the possibilities for success are limitless.

credit crunching..........................

Remove Late Payments From Your Credit Report Using Three Different Ways
Photobucket
Removing a late payment entry from your credit report, most especially if you do not have several late payment markings on the same credit account, is not so hard. You can always negotiate your way into the removal of the late payment record on your credit report. Here are three different methods which you can conveniently try to erase the late payment marks from your credit report:

1. Request a goodwill adjustment from your first creditor.

One of the easiest means to delete a late payment from your credit account record is to ask your original loaner for a goodwill adjustment. Goodwill adjustment is a process of altering your credit marking from "late" to "current." Asking for a goodwill adjustment from your loaners is easier if your payment records prior to the late payment are fairly impressive.

2. Work out a late payment removal by signing up for automatic payment services.

Another technique you can use to erase the late payment entry from that credit report is to sign-up for automatic payment services. Several loaners will help you erase the negative entries on your credit report only if you support their automatic payment service. The arrangement is actually beneficial for both: the creditor will obtain your payments on time and you will finish your financial responsibilities on schedule.

3. Present a lien stating that the late payment marking is inexact.

Disputing the inexactness of the details of your credit history is also a great means to eliminate the late payment entry on your credit report. Loaners, thanks to the large number of credit records they handle every day, have the tendency to have a difficult time affirming the details on your credit record. If the loaners fail to verify the accuracy of the late payment record, then that poor entry in your credit account will be erased.

DON't Insult me with this fuckery................................................................ it seems like a lot of people feeling froggish right now......well leap sucka. I been hearing that the prop 8 war is going to new levels....People trying to say this is the new civil rights movement. My thing is that It doesn't matter what I feel just like it don't matter what's done in people's bedrooms whether I agree or disagree. My beef comes when cats wanna broadcast that shit in my face. People say they need marriage to give rights to partners. No you don't, you can make a will. Leona Helmsly left her shit to her pet. Millions of dollars to a pet. People can leave whatever they wanna leave to each other. I have another solution. If you love a person of the same gender, why not just adopt that person and make them family. All that walk down the aisle stuff, ioknow about that. Next thing theyre going to have surgical procedures giving men the ability to get pregnant. Not that dude who turned into a dude but used to be a girl pregnant, but men actually demanding the right to have surgical procedures to get pregnant. It sounds strange now, but so did 2 dudes walking down the aisle.

TOP 10 myths of entrepreneurship

Photobucket

Many entrepreneurs believe a bunch of myths about entrepreneurship, so here are ten of the most common and the realities that bust them:

1. It takes a lot of money to finance a new business. Not true. The typical start-up only requires about $25,000 to get going. The successful entrepreneurs who don’t believe the myth design their businesses to work with little cash. They borrow instead of paying for things. They rent instead of buy. And they turn fixed costs into variable costs by, say, paying people commissions instead of salaries.

2. Venture capitalists are a good place to go for start-up money. Not unless you start a computer or biotech company. Computer hardware and software, semiconductors, communication, and biotechnology account for 81 percent of all venture capital dollars, and seventy-two percent of the companies that got VC money over the past fifteen or so years. VCs only fund about 3,000 companies per year and only about one quarter of those companies are in the seed or start-up stage. In fact, the odds that a start-up company will get VC money are about one in 4,000. That’s worse than the odds that you will die from a fall in the shower.

3. Most business angels are rich. If rich means being an accredited investor –a person with a net worth of more than $1 million or an annual income of $200,000 per year if single and $300,000 if married – then the answer is “no.” Almost three quarters of the people who provide capital to fund the start-ups of other people who are not friends, neighbors, co-workers, or family don’t meet SEC accreditation requirements. In fact, thirty-two percent have a household income of $40,000 per year or less and seventeen percent have a negative net worth.

4. Start-ups can’t be financed with debt. Actually, debt is more common than equity. According to the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Small Business Finances, fifty-three percent of the financing of companies that are two years old or younger comes from debt and only forty-seven percent comes from equity. So a lot of entrepreneurs out there are using debt rather than equity to fund their companies.

5. Banks don’t lend money to start-ups. This is another myth. Again, the Federal Reserve data shows that banks account for sixteen percent of all the financing provided to companies that are two years old or younger. While sixteen percent might not seem that high, it is three percent higher than the amount of money provided by the next highest source – trade creditors – and is higher than a bunch of other sources that everyone talks about going to: friends and family, business angels, venture capitalists, strategic investors, and government agencies.

6. Most entrepreneurs start businesses in attractive industries. Sadly, the opposite is true. Most entrepreneurs head right for the worst industries for start-ups. The correlation between the number of entrepreneurs starting businesses in an industry and the number of companies failing in the industry is 0.77. That means that most entrepreneurs are picking industries in which they are mostlikely to fail.

7. The growth of a start-up depends more on an entrepreneur’s talent than on the business he chooses. Sorry to deflate some egos here, but the industry you choose to start your company has a huge effect on the odds that it will grow. Over the past twenty years or so, about 4.2 percent of all start-ups in the computer and office equipment industry made the Inc 500 list of the fastest growing private companies in the U.S. 0.005 percent of start-ups in the hotel and motel industry and 0.007 percent of start-up eating and drinking establishments made the Inc. 500. That means the odds that you will make the Inc 500 are 840 times higher if you start a computer company than if you start a hotel or motel. There is nothing anyone has discovered about the effects of entrepreneurial talent that has a similar magnitude effect on the growth of new businesses.

8. Most entrepreneurs are successful financially. Sorry, this is another myth. Entrepreneurship creates a lot of wealth, but it is very unevenly distributed. The typical profit of an owner-managed business is $39,000 per year. Only the top ten percent of entrepreneurs earn more money than employees. And the typical entrepreneur earns less money than he otherwise would have earned working for someone else.

9. Many start-ups achieve the sales growth projections that equity investors are looking for. Not even close. Of the 590,000 or so new businesses with at least one employee founded in this country every year, data from the U.S. Census shows that less than 200 reach the $100 million in sales in six years that venture capitalists talk about looking for. About 500 firms reach the $50 million in sales that the sophisticated angels, like the ones at Tech Coast Angels and the Band of Angels talk about. In fact, only about 9,500 companies reach $5 million in sales in that amount of time.

10. Starting a business is easy. Actually it isn’t, and most people who begin the process of starting a company fail to get one up and running. Seven years after beginning the process of starting a business, only one-third of people have a new company with positive cash flow greater than the salary and expenses of the owner for more than three consecutive months.

razzle dazzle

Let's start it like this son............................

tried that twitter shit.......I'm cool on people knowing all my whereabouts every second....................................nah I'm aiiight.....I keeps it low profile even tho' I got a blog that gives you a microscopic glimpse under the veil.

How many "new" phones is gonna come out looking like a bootleg iphone?

I'm not that old, but when I listen to "HipHop" these days and who everyone tells me is supposedly hot, I feel like I'm older than Kool Herc or some shit. I remember days when talent spoke before a publicist press release, and what's up with all these people who never wrote a rhyme in they life, spun on cardboard, tagged a wall, spun a record, or even listen to HipHop in the 90's like that trying to tell me what the hell this culture is about.............................................

Why haven't we heard anything about Iraq for a while or the war on terror?

When you hear or see something new why does it feel like the thrill is gone shortly after. Are our attention spans really getting shorter?

What's up with 2012 being the new year 2000?

How come I care, but I really don't care about anything?

Is my pops right about the coming soup lines over here like they had in Russia?

I'm feeling like I'm on the edge of a paradigm shift and that makes me happy yet the unknown still has me feeling cloudy. I have faith, but I'm still anxious.

TIMES ARE TUFF

I know I show some flavorful products on the blog. I do that to keep abreast of the world flavors at large. This doesn't nec mean I'm telling y'all to go out and cop as opposed to save for important things. I say this only because of how the economoy is looking. If you got it you got it. Even if you got it........still hold tight with it. I'm looking at the credit crisis and my own bills as I say this. DHL,Circuit City shutting down,The US Postal Service and numerous other industries laying folks off, Black Friday sales are making deeep cuts, the Big 3 Automakers seeking a bailout,Airlines charging you for having bags.............It's getting crazier and crazier.

I'm not preaching at all, just saying HOLD YOUR HEADS and get into having more than one side hustle. I'm on that now. My West Indian roots are coming out, cuz by the new year I need like TREE JOB and 2 more sidehustles. I need to feel beach sand this summer out in the Caribbean, so you know I'm stacking now.

It's tricking if you tricking

Period. Mike Tyson, Holyfield,TLC, MC Hammer,Donald Trump have had more money at one point in their lives than most people may ever see in a lifetime. Another thing they have in common is that they've also all lost that money and been in debt or filed for bankrupcy or had to borrow money to get back on their feet. Trump actually used his name as collateral to borrow money. Hammer went religious, TLC went bankrupt. Tyson damn near broke and Holyfield is about to have to fight again at damn near 50 years old.

The lesson is that these cats you see in the streets and in the clubs are nowhere near to having hundreds of millions of dollars. They my have some flashy shit on and not care about drizzling a thousand dollars here or there on some broads that they don't know. They would call me broke because they can't see me withdraw my entire bank account to "flash" or have it in my pocket. This matters not considering the economy and how people are being laid off or just the fact that people aren't spending how they used to. Times are tuff and getting tougher. I'm blessed to not be hurting at this point. Roof over the dome, food in the fridge a couple cars, lil macbook to drop blogs in,and most importantly my health and fam. All I'm gonna leave y'all with today is, if your doing o.k, still tighten up the bootstraps and see what parts of your life you can trim the fat down on and start setting aside some savings. It's want vs needs. Trust me when I tell you that even if you got it or think you do, it never pays to trick, even tho' I know some of these peeps can't be told that they ain't got it. Wealth and being rich is the ability to have over a million dollars in liquid assets and be able to never have to work a day ever again. If you still gotta work, then you're not rich. You're not wealthy, you're 1 incident away from being check to check.

MY HIPHOP

FROM MY HEART
Photobucket

Remember those days when you could feel the culture? I have to ask. Are you over 26yrs old? Do you remember the Night of the Living Baseheads video? Remember boomboxes over the shoulder? Raccoon hats? What about Starter jackets with the hat to match. Don't make me break out some vintage polo or any of my duffel bags full of cassette tapes. Comic books and water uzi's..Bamboo earrings, 4 finger rings,Pagers/Beepers(I had a see thru jawn), How about a Sony Walkman? I went thru 30-40 of em.rewinding those damn tapes.....Shoot, I bought EPMD Strictly Business at least 9 times on tape. That was my most prized possession at one time, not my Gucci or Swatch watch, or my 3 finger Nike Swoosh ring, or my Coca Cola sweatshirts, but my damn EPMD tape. That album,One for all Brand Nubian,It takes a Nation of Millions,Licensed to Ill, NWA Straight Out of Compton,BDP By Any Means Necessary,Geto Boys We Can't Be Stopped. THE Albums that truly truly defined me. That will always be my favorite era. Only time that ever came close to that was 1995. To me at least.

Now y'all know why I won't cop "retro" Jordans......................I never want to taint the memory of the collection of sneaks I had back then. I remember "working" just to cop kicks. That was the good thing about living under mom's roof. NO BILLS. I could get fresh, eat good and have them late night convo's with a nice young tender. A nice smooth convo. Til' one of my other chicks would make an emergency breakthru. No call waiting famz.

ahh, I reminisce,I reminisce.............

More Inspiration from Japan

Never rocked any Bape,No BBC or nothing.....nothing against it just not my twist. That said I can tell you I have immense admiration and appreciation for Nigo. Any time you pull something out of your brain and make it go from idea to solid matter I give it up. Dude is definitely a Winner and an inspiration.........................................................pick the brain. Bathing Ape is 15 years in the game.

Some thoughts he shared...... from COMPLEX
We used to sell to something like 40 different stores in Japan… But around 1998, I decided to just cut back to our one store in Tokyo. It didn’t take long until the sales from one store were as good as when we sold throughout the country. That made me realize that this was something bigger than I had imagined.

I don’t think our clothes are so expensive; we make things in a very similar system to high-fashion designers… But we are interested in casual clothes. People get our jeans, tees and sweats confused with mass-produced consumer items. We respect the spirit of what we want to do over financial considerations—that’s consistent with our motto, I think.

I sort of fell out of touch with hip-hop… But the thing that got me enthusiastic about it again in the late ’90s was the South, especially Cash Money. So, Lil Wayne wearing the clothes I had made was amazing. I am very pleased if he is known for wearing Bape.

I have a girlfriend, and we have been together for about three years. She is a well-known actress in Japan [Riho Makise], and people are aware of the relationship… But she has her own career, and I don’t want to interfere in that. So, there is a conscious decision to avoid being seen together in public too often.

I never read blogs. So, I don’t even hear the criticism about us doing Nike take-offs. I’d like to say that other brands doing Bape knockoffs shows that the brand is recognized and desired… But in reality, it’s really annoying to have to deal with it.

AND SOMETHING FROM TIME Magazine Asia
Nigo never set out to become Japan's hottest fashion designer or an internationally famous arbiter of style, or to show young people how to rebel without losing their cool. But the fact that he is now one of the most influential movers and shakers of his generation—given how little attention he paid to cram schools, university examinations and the meticulous career planning that are still adolescent obsessions in Japan—does not strike him as particularly odd, either. In fact, he sees his focus on his passions, rather than on society's expectations, as the secret of his success. "I never planned too far ahead," says the 33-year-old, wearing a T shirt and jeans plus two necklaces and a giant watch dripping with hip-hop quantities of bling. "I just tried to do what I love and create the things that I wanted to create."

And what he has always loved to create is clothes. As a fashion student, magazine stylist and DJ in 1990s Tokyo, Nigo could never find exactly the quality-crafted, cooler-than-thou T shirts he and his buddies craved. So he started making them himself, selling them to friends and out of duffel bags at parties and DJ shows. The shirts were strange but playful, aggressively designed affairs, frequently sporting simian motifs and obscure echoes of the 1968 sci-fi classic movie Planet of the Apes. Produced in limited quantities, they quickly became the ultimate badge of street cred among the hipsters in the back alleys of Tokyo's fashion-obsessed Harajuku neighborhood.

Since then, Nigo has carefully nurtured his label, A Bathing Ape, into a cultural phenomenon by striking a fine balance between exclusivity and mass appeal. His grow-slow approach has enabled him to retain 100% ownership and total artistic control of the company, which now has interests in not just clothing and accessories but also music, art, cafés and hairstyling. Although his signature ape heads and camouflage patterns have appeared on everything from action figures and trucker hats to condoms and Pepsi bottles, the core fashion lines still come in tightly controlled production runs and are sold almost exclusively in Bathing Ape's own hard-to-find, frequently unmarked stores. When devotees do locate a shop, they are often greeted by lines around the block just to get in and subjected to limits on the number of pieces they can buy. Says Japanese neopop painter Takashi Murakami: "One of the things that makes him attractive is the sense of mystery he creates." This mystique has bestowed cachet on Nigo's clothes and accessories even among some of the West's coolest celebrities, ranging from New York City graffiti artist Futura 2000 to British hip-hop legend James Lavelle to the Beastie Boys. "Nigo is by far the biggest icon of Japanese fashion," says Jun Nemoto, fashion editor at the Japanese edition of GQ. "He's got an amazing aesthetic."

Success has transformed Nigo, who will launch a Bathing Ape store in New York City's SoHo district by next spring, into one of Japan's most potent symbols of a new entrepreneurial spirit and an inspiration to young dreamers seeking the courage to strike out on their own in a society where nonconformity is still disdained. But his role as a model, he says, is purely accidental. "I'm happy if I can be a positive encouragement to others to do what they want to do," says Nigo. Indeed, he sees the passionately led life as the key to business success and personal fulfillment. "For me, there is no boundary between fun and work," he says. "I guess I 'work' all the time, but I do not consider it work. I am having too much fun." Not just him, but his growing legions of devotees too.

12 simple ways to supercharge your brain

Have you ever felt exasperated when you bumped into someone at the
store but absolutely couldn't remember their name? Sure, it happens to
all of us.

Despite being the strongest computer on the planet, our brains do
lapse. It's hard to blame them really. As humans, we spend much of or
existence stuffing our brains with stuff.

No matter how powerful our brains are, they need recuperation time to
be kept in shape. Think of it as a tune up for your brain. Skipping
brain maintenance is as silly as the person wandering the parking
garage because they forgot where they parked. Is that you? Are you
that person? If so, fear not; we are all that person at some point.

Now I am not a brain surgeon and I am not going to suggest you do
anything surgical or dangerous. I am however an astute student of
human behavior so I always look for simple ways to super charge my
brain.

Here are some things you can begin doing as soon as today to begin the
great brain tune up:

Eat Almonds
Almond is believed to improve memory. If a combination of almond oil
and milk is taken together before going to bed or after getting up at
morning, it strengthens our memory power. Almond milk is prepared by
crushing the almonds without the outer cover and adding water and
sugar to it.

Drink Apple Juice
Research from the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML) indicates
that apple juice increases the production of the essential
neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the brain, resulting in an increased
memory power.

Sleep well
Research indicates that the long-term memory is consolidated during
sleep by replaying the images of the experiences of the day. These
repeated playbacks program the subconscious mind to store these images
and other related information.

Enjoy simple Pleasures
Stress drains our brainpower. A stress-ridden mind consumes much of
our memory resources to leave us with a feeble mind. Make a habit to
engage yourself in few simple pleasures everyday to dissolve stress
from your mind. Some of these simple pleasures are good for your mind,
body and soul.

* Enjoy music you love
* Play with your children
* Appreciate others
* Run few miles a day, bike or swim
* Start a blog
* Take a yoga class or Total Wellness routine

Exercise your mind
Just as physical exercise is essential for a strong body, mental
exercise is equally essential for a sharp and agile mind. Have you
noticed that children have far superior brainpower than an adult does?
Children have playful minds. A playful mind exhibits superior memory
power. Engage in some of the activities that require your mind to
remain active and playful.

* Play scrabble or crossword puzzle
* Volunteer
* Interact with others
* Start a new hobby such as blogging, reading, painting, bird watching
* Learn new skill or a foreign language

Practice Yoga or Meditation
Yoga or Meditation relives stress. Stress is a known memory buster.
With less stress, lower blood pressure, slower respiration, slower
metabolism, and released muscle tension follows. All of these factors
contribute significantly towards increases in our brainpower.

Reduce Sugar intake
Sugar is a non-food. It's a form of carbohydrate that offers
illusionary energy, only to cause a downhill slump once the initial
burst has been worn off. Excess intake of sugar results in neurotic
symptoms. Excess sugar is known to cause claustrophobia, memory loss
and other neurotic disorders. Eat food without adding sugar. Stay away
from sweet drinks or excess consumption of caffeine with sugar.

Eat whole wheat
The whole wheat germs contain lecithin. Lecithin helps ease the
problem of the hardening of the arteries, which often impairs brain
functioning.

Eat a light meal at night
A heavy meal at night causes tossing and turning and a prolonged
emotional stress while at sleep. It's wise to eat heavy meal during
the day when our body is in motion to consume the heavy in-take.
Eating a light meal with some fruits allows us to sleep well. A good
night sleep strengthens our brainpower.

Develop imagination
Greeks mastered the principle of imagination and association to
memorize everything. This technique requires one to develop a vivid
and colorful imagination that can be linked to a known object. If you
involve all your senses - touching, feeling, smelling, hearing and
seeing in the imagination process, you can remember greater details of
the event.

Control your temper
Bleached food, excess of starch or excess of white bread can lead to
nerve grating effect. This results in a violent and some time
depressive behavior. Eat fresh vegetables. Drink lots of water and
meditate or practice yoga to relieve these toxic emotions of temper
and stressful mood swings.

Take Vitamin B-complex
Vitamin B-complex strengthens memory power. Eat food and vegetables
high in Vitamin B-complex. Stay away from the starch food or white
bread, which depletes the Vitamin B-complex necessary for a healthy
mind.

I don't believe these are that tough. If you find yourself increasing
stumped, give a couple of these a try.

Winning Tips from the Teacher

fundamentals from Bruce Lee.

1. What are you really thinking about today?

"As you think, so shall you become."

Perhaps the most basic statement of how we work. Think about what you
are thinking today. What do those thoughts say about you? About your
life? And how well do they really match your plans for your life and
your image of yourself?

It's easy to forget about this simple statement in everyday life. It's
easy to be quite incongruent with what you think on an ordinary day
compared to how you view yourself and your goals. A simple external
reminder such as a post-it with this quote can be helpful to keep you
and your thoughts on the right track. An brilliant and beautiful
expansion on this thought can be found in James Allen's As a man
thinketh (that can be downloaded for free here).

2. Simplify.

"It's not the daily increase but daily decrease. Hack away at the unessential."

"If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done."

If you want to improve your life then it's tempting to want to add
more. One problem with this may be that you don't really have the time
or energy to do more though. And so your efforts to improve become
short-lived.

Adding more and more just creates more stress and anxiety. Removing
clutter and activities, tasks and thoughts that are not so important
frees up time and energy for you to do more of what you really want to
do. And as the clutter in your outer world decreases the clutter in
your inner world also has a tendency to decrease. This has the added
benefit of making it easier to actually enjoy whatever you are doing
even more while you are doing it.

Adding more thoughts and thinking things over for the 111:th time may
create a sense of security. It's also a good way to procrastinate and
to avoid taking that leap you know you should take. And the more you
think, the harder it gets to act. Perhaps because you want to keep
that comforting sense of security and avoid the risk of wrecking that
feeling.

Thinking has its place. It can help you plan a somewhat realistic
route to your goal and help you avoid future pitfalls. Overthinking is
however just a habit that will help you waste a lot of time. It's more
useful to replace that habit with the habit of just doing it.

3. Learn about yourself in interactions.

"To know oneself is to study oneself in action with another person."

The one person that is the hardest to get to really know may be
yourself. Studying yourself while you are alone may result in some
insights. But it's also likely to produce a lot of made up thought
loops and doubts in your mind. A good way to really learn more about
yourself is study yourself in interactions with other people. How
people react and act in these interaction can over time teach you a
lot. And what you think and how you react can perhaps teach you even
more.

What you see, feel and hear in other people may be a reflection of
you. The things you learn by thinking this way may not always be
pleasant, but they can be enlightening. They help you to see yourself
and also how you may be fooling yourself. And these powerful insights
can be very valuable for your personal growth. So, in interactions
with others, try asking yourself: what is reflected?

4. Do not divide.

"Take no thought of who is right or wrong or who is better than. Be
not for or against."

This is a very useful and powerful thought. It is also one that
obviously is hard to live by. Why? I believe it's because the ego
loves to divide and find ways to "add more" to itself. It want's to
feel better than someone else. Or more clever. Or prettier. Or cooler.
Or wiser.

How can you overcome this way of thinking and feeling?

To me it seems to boil down to not identifying so much with your
thoughts or feelings. That doesn't mean that you stop thinking or
feeling. It just means that you realize – and remember in your
everyday life – that the thoughts and emotions are just things flowing
through you.

You are not them though.

You are the consciousness observing them.

When you realize and remember this it enables you to control the
thoughts and feelings instead of the other way around. It also enables
you to not take your thoughts too seriously and actually laugh at them
or ignore them when you feel that your ego is acting out. When you are
not being so identified these things you become more inclined to
include things, thoughts and people instead of excluding them. This
creates a lot of inner and outer freedom and stillness. Instead of
fear, a need to divide your world and a search for conflicts.

To learn more about this I would recommend Eckhart Tolle's books and
signing up for the 10 free and excellent webcasts - available both in
video and audio form – that he's doing with Oprah right now.

5. Avoid a dependency on validation from others.

"I'm not in this world to live up to your expectations and you're not
in this world to live up to mine."

"Showing off is the fool's idea of glory."

The ego wants to add because it thinks it's not enough. One way of
doing that is by craving validation from others. We want to feel
smart, pretty, successful and so on. And the validation makes you feel
good for a while. But soon you need a new fix.

And the problem with being dependent on validation from other people
is that you let other people control how you feel. This creates a
rollercoaster of emotion in your life.

To find more emotional stability and to take control of how you feel
you need to get your validation from to a more consistent source.
Yourself. You can replace the expectations and validation of others by
setting your own expectations and by validating yourself.

And so you validate yourself by thinking about how awesome you are.
You don't sell yourself short. You appreciate how far you have come
and the positive things you have done. You appreciate your own value
in the world. You set goals and you achieve those goals. This builds
confidence in yourself and in your abilities. These things will help
you to build a habit of inner validation.

Now, showing off. Why do we do that? To get validation from others.
However, this need for validation often shines through and that is why
a thing like bragging seldom works. Instead of seeing the cool and
successful person you are trying to project people just see the
insecure and needy person looking for validation. And your bragging
falls flat.

6. Be proactive.

"To hell with circumstances; I create opportunities."

It's easy to get locked into a reactive mindset. You just follow along
with whatever is happening. You do what the people around you do. You
react to whatever is going on.

And so you get lost in your circumstances. This way of thinking
doesn't feel too good. You tend to feel powerless and like you are
just drifting along.

A more useful and pleasurable way of living is to be proactive. As
Bruce says: to create opportunities despite the circumstances around
you. This feels better and provides better results. But on the other
hand it's also more difficult. It's easier to just drift along in the
reactive stream of life. And if you want to be proactive then you may
have to take the lead quite often. And that can be scary.

Still, living proactively is so much more rewarding and exciting.

7. Be you.

"Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not
go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it."

Just being yourself is a hard thing to do. You may do it sometimes.
And other times you may forget or fall back into old thought patterns.
Or you may imitate someone else.

And that comes through too. And it may work.

But I believe that being the real you will work better. Because there
the genuine you is shining through. Without incongruency, mixed
messages or perhaps a sort of phoniness. It's you to 100%. It's you
with not only your words but you with your voice tonality and body
language – which some say is over 90% of communication - on the same
wavelength as your words. It's you coming through on all channels of
communication.

So I'm not saying: "yeah man, you should just be yourself because it's
the right thing to do etc." I'm saying that I think being your
authentic self – the one where you do little dividing, the one that
needs little validation from others, the one where your ego is not
running the show and trying to get something from someone – will give
you better results and more satisfaction in your day to day life
because you are in alignment with yourself. And because people really
like genuine and people really like authenticity.

QUAD FLAVORS

I get inspired by everything. My sanity is always something those around me question. Most jokingly by saying "son you're bugging" or "kid you crazy".

The reason I evoke such responses is because I'm truly on my own thought process. It definitely stays random, yet planned. Right now as I blog I'm thinking about 30 different things and yet, keeping it together long enough to spew out a few typed words letting you into my mental state.
