Presidential Rollie

Photobucket
Photobucket

Didn't really chime in too heavy on Barack.Pres. Barry definitely gets my respect. I took 59 seconds and checked out the inauguration. I thought it was intense to say the least. To see that many folks turn out to witness one man in itself is awesome. That's alot of power for one dude to wield. I wasn't really caught up in the hype though. I'm more concerned about all of our mounting problems and how he's gonna take them. The world is advancing and changing rapidly. These new ways of communication are linking people and propaganda in ways we've never seen. The Obabma administration is fully aware and on the pulse of the medium. We're living in historic times and there is much to be happy about. There is also a lot to consider about the future though.

MY response when I read something froggish on the web

Photobucket

Alot of people acting real froggish on the web right now.Whether it be on the forums, messageboards, twitter, myspace, facebook, the blogs or what have you. I ain't no celeb,Alister, wannabe, actor, rapper, manager, teachers pet, garbageman, sanctified saint or your maid or barber( though I do a pretty good line and shape up). I sit back play the cut and observe. I've been noticing alot more lately that folks are feeling themselves behind the monitors of these here computers. No hostility in my direction, tho, I don't do e beef and never have. I will never even allow myself to literally even spend a second thinking about some assumed name on the web. It is a little amusing though when I see some folks take each other to war on the web. I sometimes wonder if it gives them some sort of real acknowledgement or sense of accomplishment that they think about offline? I also sometimes wonder what these folks look like and what they spend their offline time doing if they have this much time to waste chasing shadows. Thats why I'm making the grilchy face. It caught me this morning when I was reading some garbage that was presented as realness. No I'm not posting it because It's not worthy of shine, but nonetheless I was amused. I say if you froggish online, then get off the web and leap. Don't sit there with your underoos on and your blanket for a cape pretending you a superhero. Get out there and get it cracking.

Walk wit me

It's been a minute since I updated. The inspiration hasn't been there. I've been getting some real life stuff in order. This includes grinding heavily and getting some rest. I have been plotting on a few moves and have had an opportunity to have that light bulb in the head go off to expand my business. Shouts to Barack for inspiring us all to inspire each other. Keep y'all heads elevated. If you're going thru it like I am to try to excel this year. Take a sec to scroll down and have a good laugh. Relax your brain.

HALF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Photobucket

Sometimes this is the mentality in my household. Gotta Love it tho'

off center

PhotobucketSometimes I shock people with some of the things I like and appreciate. Anybody reading the blog knows I'm a HipHop generation dude with a varied and worldly taste for arts, music and womens. Last night I was listening to some old mixtapes and began to realize that although I have my biases like we all do, I generally give credit where it's due. I still look at things from a street cypher perspective. By that I mean that HipHop had a filter and it was the cypher. Like Krs 1 once said "you're not an mc until you first impress your own household with your skills, after you get respect in your own house, you then battle and cypher with the mc's on the street, once you get nice enough and get REAL respect from those cats, you next have to be able to rock the houseparty and after you pass that level, you're ready for the stage and nice enough to be considered a credible mc." Well those days are over. Now it's you become an mc based on the equipment you bu ie. studio, protools etc. You may get a deal before you even do 1 show or cypher ie. Asher Rothsisthes. I still can't give credit to mcs who have not paid dues. One mc I give more and more credit to(altho I always thought was aiight) is Fabolous. The kid i nice in a traditional mc sense. It just so happens that he can spit for the chicks and make catchy hit records too. He gets alot of hate from the backpack crowd( actually the wanna be backpack crowd) for that fact. You ain't supposed to spit about chicks and jewelry for them. These same cats also hated a similar mc named B.I.G(before he passed away anyways).

This post, I'm giving Fab some shine for being able to hold it down. This kid is a future king of the game and truly should set a standard for the new cornballs that are coming out based on strictly marketing rather than actually having that raw spit. Now if only he can match the intensity of his mixtapes with his albums.

Damn Thing

Random splashes of thoughts:

Figured out some shit with the science behind twitter......tightened up the circle and got rid of loose change

Facebook is awkward because you're talking to folks you haven't seen or heard from in like 20yrs.........but it's cool to see how people turned out. I always assume people are doing alright if they're on there. The peeps who aren't on there I worry about.

American Idol is the most predictable shit ever. Wifey has it on and I already picked this seasons winner.

Lex going to the Inauguration has me amped. It's like we got real representation up there live and direct.

Feeling strong and positive.....

Kool Keith Sex Styles album which I broadied from Tower is getting run right now. I always been a fan of Keith, but I didn't like this when it dropped. New Appreciation.

Notorious, dunno if I'm gonna go to the theater. The morning he died Akil called me stupid early and told me he was gone. We burned maaaad L's that day and went to the dollar theater to see the Larry Flynt movie. We were so choclated and skunked out and still in shock we really ain't even pay attention to the flick. This is notable because Akil hates the theater and never ever went. But we mourned in the theater.

I'm making stewed chicken or oxtails this weekend. I need that good heartfelt west indian grub.

I been moving and rotating my energy in a positive direction for a while. I'm feeling like something is coming.

Never play the fringe. If you a winner step in the circle. 1

DAILY OPERATION

One of the habits I picked up in the Far East is to O.D on fruits. If you can't get the amount of servings you need, theres no excuse. I been getting my PlanetSmoothieKing thing onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. I always had an ill smoothie technique. No secret, simply some orange juice,4 frozen strawberries,a banana, couple pineapple cubes and a squirt of honey blended for about 3 minutes. It bangs out heavy plus I'm getting my daily amounts of real vitamins and nutrients.

My brother sent me a wii, but I go back to walking the block in West Philly, getting some Wise Onion Rings, some Now n' LATERS, a Welch's grape soda and CHANGE. I told y'all about me and Donkey Kong, but Space Invaders,Supa PacMan,Frogger(which I had the mini handheld arcade style joint to) and DigDug had me caught up for hours as a kid. Then it was back to the block to play stick or whiffle ball. Icee trucks, fire hydrants and listening to the radio on your front steps. Now that culture was REAL. That's why sometimes I feel like we were cut from a totally different cloth.

Me Currently

Photobucket
Aiight let's start it like this son. I'm finally escaping jetlag aftereefects and getting fully on my square. After a Monday I had to cross off the calendar permanently yesterday, I'm back in the game. I went back to the day gig and found out they wanna upgrade the kid by putting me in a new position at a new state of the art facility, which turns out to be about 5 minutes away from the house, jeahhhh. I may be getting a lil yamaha bike or something and letting the Lex Bubble sit in the driveway. Then I talked to some of my homies I haven't spoken to in a while and realized that I know some really good stand up dudes who are all gainfully employed and wifeyed up or chickenheaded up and moving forward in a positive direction with their lives. I be feeling good to see everyone getting it. Werd to Hova sayin "if everyone is rich within ya click, ya click is rugged" well,"rich" is not only monetarily, but mentally and spiritually as well. I'm feeling that some POWERFUL moves are going to be made this year....

As far as brain stimulation...................I'm simultaneously listening to 6 feet deep, reading the laws of power again(like art of war you gotta pick this up once a year), watching coonskin, blogging, twittering, checking some sites and watching my dogs fight over food. Yeah I have to take the trash out,fix a couple lightbulbs and pick some shit out, but my household cats know how it is........all that can wait while we chill and get right. Sheeet, I got my money and bills taken care of today so let me just marinate

reminisce over you

Damn went to go check my man Goldies blog JUNGLEJEM45 and realized that he had a picture of my late great homie Jax and Binkis Recs fam as his heading. I glimpsed and saw myself in the background wit my red fitted on from an appearance I made to spit a verse to the song we dedicated to my man DJ Ox who passed a few years ago. Looking at this flick took me back to that night and how much fun we had during that set. It also brought back the realization that the end of an era has come with Jax's untimely passing. Looking at this picture made me realize and feel thankful that I was a part of this movement here in ATL of trying to keep the raw essence of our culture alive. I also have to do my part to keep it maintaining. Even amongst the current trendy fake dudes who never lived it and the cats who had connections with some certain "circuits" and feel that they can do this too(well since they got the connections why not, it don't matter about skills).

Well this year. I got an agenda too and that's to shut that shit down and maintain the real blue label standard. That's word to Jax.

Back on my Schiff shit

a few words from Pete

Q: Say something positive about the U.S. economy.

There's nothing good to say about our situation. The policies both the Fed and government are pursuing are making the situation worse. We've been getting a free ride on the global gravy train. Other countries are starting to reclaim their resources and goods, so as Americans are priced out of various markets, the rest of the world is going to enjoy the consumption of goods Americans had previously purchased. This is a natural consequence of this phony economy. If America had maintained a viable economy and continued to produce goods instead of merely consuming them, and if we had saved money instead of borrowing, our standard of living could rise with everybody else's. Instead, we gutted our manufacturing, let our infrastructure decay, and encouraged our citizens to borrow with reckless abandon.

Q: So what are you doing about it?

I'm getting my clients' money outside of the United States as fast as they can send it to me. I've been recommending that to my clients for close to 10 years. You've got to own resources and energy. I was saying oil was going to $200 a barrel in 2002. I've been buying gold, silver, industrial metals, and all kinds of stocks. My main theme is the global economy will survive and the U.S. economy is a disaster. Everything is about how you benefit from the increased purchasing power and rising standard of living in the rest of the world.

Q: What are your best or worst calls through this downturn?

I've been bearish on bonds. U.S. bonds have lost a lot of real value but not nominal value. I still think that's going to be proven to be correct. While the housing bubble was inflating, I was telling people to rent. I was telling people to get out of tech stocks in 1998 and 1999. They kept rising, but then they collapsed, and I turned out to be right. The reality is I don't think I've been wrong on anything.

Q: Most people disagree with that sort of pessimism. If you're staying in the United States, how do you invest?

If you want to be in U.S markets, you avoid anything connected with the American economy. You avoid retailers, the home builders, the financials—anything having to do with consumers buying something or paying back the money they borrowed. If you want to invest in U.S. markets, stick with exporters and resource companies. I've been saying that for five or six years; I haven't gotten anything wrong. We shorted subprime mortgages. I have clients that made 10 times their money. We've never sold an oil stock. We've never sold a gold stock.

Q: Why don't you think soaring oil, grains, or commodities prices are the next bubble?

These prices do not constitute bubbles. They simply constitute the repricing of goods to reflect the diminished value of our money. The way you can tell there's not a bubble is that these markets are clearing. People are buying food and eating it. They're buying gasoline and using it. Speculators aren't buying gasoline and warehousing it in big facilities because they think the price is going to go up. At the same time, we've increased the supply of money dramatically, and the Fed is increasing it even faster now to deal with the bursting of the housing bubble. The only thing that can happen is for prices of commodities to rise to reflect the equilibrium of a greater supply of money. It's not even that oil prices are going up. Oil prices are staying the same. What's happening is the value of money is diminishing, so we need more units of currency to buy the same amount of oil or wheat or corn or whatever.

Q: How about some predictions?

• I think the stock market is headed lower. Gold is going to be $1,200 to $1,500 by the end of the year. That puts the Dow at a less-than-10-to-1 price ratio to gold. Right now, it's about 13 to 1. That's another 30 percent drop in the real value of stocks by the end of the year if you price them in gold. The Dow was worth 43 ounces of gold in 2000. It'll get to 10 by the end of the year and continue to fall from there.

• Oil prices had a pretty big run and might not make more headway by the end of the year. But we could see $150 to $200 next year. I don't think oil will hit $250 because there will be enough destruction of demand in the United States to keep it from doubling. The big problem for us is if the Chinese substantially allow their currency to rise. It could increase at least fivefold against the dollar over the span of a year or two. That reduces the price of oil by 80 percent for 1.3 billion Chinese. Consumption would go through the roof, and that will drive prices through the roof for us.

• At a minimum, the dollar will lose another 40 to 50 percent of its value. I'm confident that by next year we'll see more aggressive movements to abandon the dollar by the [Persian] Gulf region and by the Asian bloc. That's where the stuff really hits the fan.

Q: So how bad do you think this economy will get?

The other problem we'll have during those years is civil [unrest]. There will be a big increase in crime. People are going to be hungry. People are going to be cold. There's a sense of entitlement in this country, and when a lot of people used to having things suddenly don't, everybody looks for someone to blame.

Q: Really?

We're going through a very rough period in our history. In many ways, it's going to be worse than the Depression.

The Ocean speaks to me tho', if I upload any of the trips and places I've been to over the last 25 plus years that's the recurring theme. I fell blessed to have been able to see the world and visit every continent. These experiences truly make me who I am.
