Helping the movement out..........

NEW JapCity...........There is hope for HipHop yet.

This need to be on the radio..........................I've been scared feeling like I've been out of touch.Like they took the culture out of the music. HipHop is missing this shit right here amongst other things......

Happy Halloween

And so begins my favorite season. Yup Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then my birthday and a couple of my peoples have birthdays ,then Christmas, then New Years and then the groggy month of January where everybodies still on autopilot. I've loved this season ever since I was a lickle youth........Even though it's cold and brick, the vibe has always been great for me. Well almost always, there was that year in the early 90's I almost got bagged up for yapping pockets as well as candy bags on halloween but that's a story for a later date........Be safe out there and stay aware.

peace.

YEEEEEEAH BWOY!!!!!!

Photobucket

We did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the old school days in Philly, the Michael Jack Shmidt era, to the Kruk-Dykstra era........and beyond. I rep Philly til Death. Eagles,Flyers,Sixers, and Phillies. We've come close plenty of times, we
ve taken serious L's and letdowns(Superbowl a couple years ago anyone), but when you taste victory in Illadelph it's especially sweet. Unfortunately I'm not up there for this, but y'know I'm celebrating the Philly way out here in ATL. Guess my Phils classic fitted is gonna shine a lil brighter.........and yes I do go back to them MAB paints hats(vintage).

REAL TV

Photobucket

Been a favorite of mine for the last few years.............WE ALL miss the Wire. The Shield and the wire were must see TV for me for a long time. An hr I could dedicate every week to being on the edge of my seat, literally. Things happen so quick and intense. We are now also saying goodbye to another fave. The last Season is here and it's got twists, turns, rights, lefts, ups, downs, in betweens.

I dunno about y'all but all good things come to an end eventually.

R.I.P

to The Wire

Sopranos

Adult Swim (that shit they have on there now PALES in comparison to the brilliance of a few years ago)

and now Finally

The Shield

I like Sons Of Anarchy for what it is, so far. I keep up with it. Nip Tuck lost me a few seasons ago but I hear it's been crazy so I may grab the DVDs eventually. Thats' my twist anyways, I'll just go cop the DVD series. Entourage is in play right now, but other than that, I can't really call TV like that. I was a big Meet the Press fan (R.I.P Tim Russert) and obviously I'm watching CNN and Fox News for the comedic value, but other than that it's real blahzay blah.

NUEVA YORK

Back in the building from NYC on a lil break. It was a real smooth trip even though it was as hectic as only NY can be. The MultiTASK Mecca as I like to call it. If your pace is any less than 150%,then I feel for you. Things were especially crazy with the CMJ music festival in town. I caught a couple shows, ran into some old friends, debated with a Staten Island chick who is a Palin supporter because she's a mother?,ate some great foods(mexican, burgers, tofu bacon?,Italian,French,West Indian....well I was only there a couple days what you expect, I couldn't hit up Spanish Harlem or Chinatown like I wanted to or dip to one of the newest sushi spots) but yeah,I hit up some of my favorite spots for gear, saw some raw ass dancehall, and of course chilled out in a few distinguished spots for grilchy individuals..............Shouts to Anton,Akil,Karni,Steve,Woodz,Edge,Alex,Malbon Farms,Jacob from Vinnies Styles,Marlon at Private Stock,DJ BABU,DYllema,RAVAGE,Jayceeoh, and everybody who showed love.........
NY random thoughts from my mind o' minds........

'09 MOVIES I'm WAITING TO SEE

WOLVERINE!!!!!!!!!! hands down my favorite comic book character next to Bullseye. This one is gonna be HUGE. This is also footage from the Comicon....Notice how the crowd loses it when Gambit pops up...NUFF SAID.

NEXT

WATCHMEN.....Another comic book movie, but very very ill and raw and realistic, well as realistic as it can be. I remember when Watchmen came out(the books) and I remember how serious comic heads and literary folks took it. All I can say as someone who has read the comics is that the movie looks dead on. I mean almost exactly the feel of the book. Now we haven't seen the movie yet, but just from this preview I'm being prepared to be blown away. Also if they could do Watchmen, as immense as that story is, then Mark Millar should be slapped for letting them turn Wanted(an excellent comic book in my opinion) into a damn Angelina Jolie movie that was waaaaaaaqaay off base from how ill the book was.

OK this next one, I'm just interested to see how it get's pulled off.

NOTORIOUS, the life and times of BIGGIE SMALLS. I mean, Gravy(the actor/rapper) playing BIG deserves his shot. I mean he favors him and is an mc, so he already has a leg up. I'm just hoping this doesn't turn out like the MC Hammer movie VH1 put together where you look at it like a train wreck, nah not train wreck, but a plane crashing into a train wreck. I have hopes, not necessarily high, but hopes. Unfortunately for Gravy though, I think he may be typecast as big, meaning that when he does shows now, he may have to scrap his entire (unknown) catalogue and just do shows as B.I.G, because that's what people are gonna wanna hear. It'll be some weird Elvis type impersonation shit, but hey the kids gotta eat.

AFRO FUNK!!!!!!

Yeah, so I'm here in NY and as soon as I land I get swooped up by Anton and directly launched into the night scene......I'm lucky I got a chance to put my bags down, but this is NY people so I gotta get my hyperspeed on............Within an hr...I'm popping shots and bobbing to the music, getting right. O.K so I turn around and who is there getting it in as well but the LEGENDARY Crazy Legs of the ROCKSTEADY CREW. Cool cat, chopped it up with him for a sec and continue my mission.........
Photobucket

UGOD from the Wu did a short set, I mean short as his verse on Protect ya Neck, which he did, but theres this one joint about hips......when you hear it you're gonna think your bugging but your really not....He's a wild dude................The act of the night was this Rockabilly black jawn and her band...Group is called the Noisettes and I'm calling it now. They may blow the F up....Shortys energy and voice are incredible........I actually tried to kidnap her, but her handlers had other plans(CURSES!!!!!)

I then got a huge pat on my shoulder from this cat asking me "You from Philly?" because of the classic Phillies fitted I had seated on my crown. I said yeah, and next thing I know I'm being given a bunch of magazines repping the 2.1.5. WORD UP!!!!! If you don't know I collect magazines from all over the world dealing with Culture, especially HIPHOP Culture. I will be hitting TWO ONE FIVE mag up about collabing with the kid!!!
philly mags

Anyways, just getting into the swing of things for CMJ today so I'm set to go in, but first let me get on my NY shit, but you know I gotta throw a twist on it.

HOW I'M Feeling right now

ni

that's a good thing tho'

SONY ROLL uP

I have a PS2, trusty ol school PS2. What can I say,I haven't been able to sit and play it for a gooooood long minute. I turned down a Nintendo Wii from my brother last Christmas just cuz I told him I would never play it. I almost copped an XBOX360 just because of some game from last year I can't even remember. When I'm on the run on flights or just in a line waiting for something I get my blackberry arcade on. I've got PacMan,DigDug,Brickbreaker, and a couple other joints, but I would contemplate this...................

SONY PSP roll up.

ULTIMATE ALBUMS

I'll put this under an album I wouldn't have minded seeing made. I have a lot of records I wish would have come together. Strictly from a fan perspective and lover of HipHop.

I was listening to one of the Nas andAZ blend tapes and that album would have been progressive as hell and definitely classic.
Heres How I would do it,and this is just from ME.
n2
n1

Nas and AZ album produced entirely by circa 1994 DJ Premier with additional guest appearances on tracks Rae and Ghost, Styles P and Jadakiss,Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel, and a track with Scarface.

Now tell me that album wouldn't be the Ultimate.

FUTURE Communicado

Yeah, I know I know, what kind of lifestyle cat do I think I am without the iphone? Well I'm a blackberry owner who just can't make that transition.....I multitask with the berry too much. All in the course of having a phone call, I'll check my gmail, text wifey, mms text Lex a pic of something I just clipped and do it all with ease................plus I got a friend who works for Apple and he said if he didn't get the iphone for free he wouldn't have gotten it. That compounded with the fact that he keeps telling me the new things that they're planning to do with the "next" generation and it will pay to wait.....Shoot, dealing with cingular I wait anyway on giving over my cash. They're nothing more than just a necessary evil anyways, but if I could get something lightweight and sleek like this with all the things my blackberry does, I might make the jump.....

The EDGE PHONE.

1958 or 2008

Seems to be alot of fear about black people still in our country. A lot of ignorance and foolishness. People like to feel comfortable with their racism. They even like to do racist things and say "yeah but I'm not racist, I just do racist shit from time to time, but hey who doesn't?"

Some Repugs have printed up what they think Obamas new foodstamps will look like. They have also come out to say that black people do like these things so it isn't racist. The scary thing is that no matter how intelligent a black man is he still is referred to as a simpleton.

Also be on the lookout for the early "voter fraud" strategy that Faux News is pushing.........They are trying to still say that Acorn is going to be responsible for fraud if Obama wins......Funny there were votes still uncounted in Fla. in 2000 and they had nothing to say about Bush winning, yes Bush, the president we have now.......I know you rarely hear his name anymore even with the wars going on that HE put us in. Even with the Economy which is magically f'd up. Even with the lowest approval rating of any president.........It's o.k, but how bout somebody print up some G.Bush bucks? Oh they did that already and gave em back to the big corporations whose greed is responsible for the damn economic situation we're in now.
fear itself

PS yes, I do watch Fox News, it's always been funnier than Comedy Central and I like to test myself sometimes by betting on how silly and low they'll go.
