CRAY Z Deranged

Photobucket
Yeah last night whooooo, had a blazt!!!!! Ended up having some fams I've known for a long time come in town to do a show at the Speakeasy. My man C Rayz Walz and John Robinson (LIL Sci) came and shut it down.......... I had a hell of a night, lotta TOYz got played out last night from a wannabe heckler to a wack ass graph artist, things got a lil grilchy. I started wit Absinthe, which was my first time going in on it...had a shot and a "Death in the Afternoon".....pretty intense tings dey. I then linked up with the team and a fly slapboxing suicide girl looking punk rock chick. Them type chicks always look vicious in a sexy way but scare super easy. I think the tattooos and piercings are there to cover up how tender they really are LOL. So as we proceed, the show was smash. I actually got up there wit Walz and spit a lil something. Don't know if y'all know it but this cat is a member of our secret society..........pep the logo tatted on him hahahahahahhaha a soldier and a rebel, say what you will about him, but he's 1 million percent him.

The homie John Robinson was in a crew called Scienz of Life which was an integral part of the NY underground and Fondle Em Records (II) lol, but he has recently reinvigorated himself and continued on the path. He also was on my first single damn near 10 yrs ago. Another family member and rising name in the game. It's always great seeing him. His brother Invizzibl Hands(which is the name I gave him) ID 4 Windz stays close to my heart. These are some real brothers man. John proceeded to prove why he's definitely a threat last night. Excellent Show.

So yeah I also had to grip up some spray cans and TOY the shit out of some trash last night.....What you thinking fam? U think I aint the embodiment? You sadly mistaken family. I come from the era of boomboxes, cardboard on the concrete, 'know when HipHop was outside and there was no internets. A tape was the internets back in the day, you used to dub some ill shit and it spread from person to person. There was heavy airbrush on the shirts, and fashion was the 5th element. DJ,MC,Breakdancing,Graphiti, and fashion. Go back to school suckaz........anyways, I ended up getting tilton bradley and made my sojourn home, some other shit happened but peep my tweets for details. 1

The game is changin'

Photobucket

I had a convo the other day about the entertainment industry offering no real job security. We see people like Patti Labelle and Tina Turner in their 70's and 80's still touring and doing shows to have some income and maintain their lifestyle. In HipHop we don't really have any 50 and 60 year old rappers still doing tours and maintaining their images. The whole gist of HipHop is to shine and show the people how fresh you are and how rich you are. A rapper don't work no day job, they do records and get their "millions" from the art, but do they really?

As you all know, a million dollars isn't what it once was. If you purchase a home and a few cars and jewels your money is significantly dwindled. It's one of the reasons we see so many broke and starving mc;s who we all thought were doing sooo well. It's like if you're an mc you can't work. You can't let anyone see you "a star" getting a day job to supplement your income. You would rather be bankrupt and poor than have your illusion dissappear. I think that as kids we looked up to rappers and ballplayers as the ultimate alternative to 9 to 5 jobs our parents had. It was a "we'll" live our culture and have fun and be rich mindstate. This is doing an injustice to the kids today who need to realize that rap money is nothing more than just a supplemental income or money to invest or a savings account. It is not money to fall back on and act like "that's it" we got 250 thousand and can retire.

We also need to realize that the culture is aging and we really don't have any examples of what rap retirement looks like. We don't know what the outcome is yet for our culture. How are the people monetarily? Will they have to put out albums and tour forever to live comfortably later in life? Is this a viable occupation that we should have kids looking up to and taking seriously?

Understand that you are only as good as your last hit, if you ever get one. That ringtone money gets taxed and more times than not the people managing your money are in it for their check and don't care about you being broke. Look at the NBA or NFL for instance. I read a stat that something like 60% go broke some yrs after they leave the league. This is because their income stops and they are still spending the same as they were. Without properly investing your dollars they are sure to leave you. I know this is a lil rantish, but it's something I've been thinking about lately, now that we're all getting older. Where do rappers go when they grow up?

From the chamber

Random splashes of thoughts:

Figured out some shit with the science behind twitter......tightened up the circle and got rid of loose change

Facebook is awkward because you're talking to folks you haven't seen or heard from in like 20yrs.........but it's cool to see how people turned out. I always assume people are doing alright if they're on there. The peeps who aren't on there I worry about.

American Idol is the most predictable shit ever. Wifey has it on and I already picked this seasons winner.

Lex going to the Inauguration has me amped. It's like we got real representation up there live and direct.

Feeling strong and positive.....

Kool Keith Sex Styles album which I broadied from Tower is getting run right now. I always been a fan of Keith, but I didn't like this when it dropped. New Appreciation.

Notorious, dunno if I'm gonna go to the theater. The morning he died Akil called me stupid early and told me he was gone. We burned maaaad L's that day and went to the dollar theater to see the Larry Flynt movie. We were so choclated and skunked out and still in shock we really ain't even pay attention to the flick. This is notable because Akil hates the theater and never ever went. But we mourned in the theater.

I'm making stewed chicken or oxtails this weekend. I need that good heartfelt west indian grub.

I been moving and rotating my energy in a positive direction for a while. I'm feeling like something is coming.

Never play the fringe. If you a winner step in the circle. 1

Aiight that's all the flicks I'm putting up for now. I'll leave y'all with this one. I'm a fire sign(Sagggi) but I'm a tropical dude. I don't need much. I keep it basic for being a complicated dude. The Ocean speaks to me tho', if I upload any of the trips and places I've been to over the last 25 plus years that's the recurring theme. I fell blessed to have been able to see the world and visit every continent. These experiences truly make me who I am.

QUAD FLAVORS

I get inspired by everything. My sanity is always something those around me question. Most jokingly by saying "son you're bugging" or "kid you crazy".

The reason I evoke such responses is because I'm truly on my own thought process. It definitely stays random, yet planned. Right now as I blog I'm thinking about 30 different things and yet, keeping it together long enough to spew out a few typed words letting you into my mental state.

Heres a look into my current zone...............................................................................................

Watching Lou Dobbs,Listening to Ghostface Cobra Clutch, watching some Freaky Zeeky interview in the side of the screen and peeping some new lays.......................
